Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Odd Pear Studio, LLC (“Odd Pear Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with our websites (oddpearstudio.com and twyne-dating.com) and our mobile application, Twyne (together, the “Service”).
Our Service is offered only to residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old. If you do not reside in the United States, please do not use the Service. This Policy is intended to comply with United States federal and state law and does not address the laws of any other jurisdiction.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information: your email address and password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text).
- Profile information: name, date of birth, gender, sexual orientation and dating preferences, photos, prompts, and other information you choose to share.
- Communications: messages and voice notes you exchange with other members through Twyne, and communications you send to our support team.
- Verification data: if you verify your profile, a live selfie is sent to our identity-verification partner, Didit, to confirm you are a real person. We store the resulting status and risk assessment, not the raw biometric scan.
- Payment information: if you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, with RevenueCat as our subscription management provider. We do not receive or store your payment card number.
Information collected automatically
- Location: with your permission, an approximate location, used only to show you people nearby and to apply your distance filter. You can turn this off in Location & distance settings.
- Usage and device data: matches, likes, messages, reports, and basic app diagnostics, used to run and improve Twyne and keep the community safe.
- Push notification tokens: so we can deliver notifications you have opted into.
- Reports and moderation records: when someone is reported, we keep the report and, if it was filed from a conversation, a copy of that conversation so our team can review it. We also keep a record of any warning, suspension, or ban.
Information from other sources
We may receive limited account status information from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat (for example, whether a subscription is active) to manage your account.
2. How We Use Information
- Create and manage your account and profile;
- Operate matching, messaging, and other core features of Twyne;
- Verify identity and review reports so we can keep bad actors off the Service;
- Process subscription payments and manage billing status;
- Send you notifications you have opted into (new likes, matches, and messages) and transactional emails (for example, email verification, support replies, and moderation notices) through our email provider, Resend;
- With your consent or as permitted by law, send you marketing communications. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email;
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the Service, including detecting fraud, spam, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support;
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information with:
- Other members: only what you choose to put on your profile (such as photos, bio, and prompts). Your email address, exact location, and account status are never shown to other members. The person you report is never told who reported them.
- Service providers: companies that help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Didit (identity verification), RevenueCat (subscription management), Resend (email delivery), push notification delivery services, and Apple and Google (app distribution and payment processing). These providers may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety reasons: if required by valid legal process or government request, or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Odd Pear Studio, our members, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your consent: in any other circumstances where you direct us to share your information.
4. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
All U.S. users can:
- Edit or remove profile information at any time from Edit Profile in the app;
- Turn location sharing off from Location & distance in Settings;
- Delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete account, or request deletion on our support page. See Section 5 for what is deleted and what may be kept;
- Request a copy of or correction to your personal information by emailing contact@twyne-dating.com;
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you additional rights, including the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used, and disclosed about you in the preceding 12 months;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use sensitive personal information, such as location, only to provide the Service, which does not require an opt-out under the CCPA);
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
You may submit a request by emailing contact@twyne-dating.com. We will verify your identity before completing your request. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our denial email; we will respond to your appeal within 45 days.
Residents of Other States
If you reside in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, or others), you have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a denied request. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at contact@twyne-dating.com.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, photos and other files you uploaded, matches, likes, and messages are removed immediately and permanently.
- When a match ends, its messages, voice notes and other conversation data are deleted 30 days later. If someone has reported that conversation and the report is still open, we keep it until our team has finished reviewing the report.
- Your verification selfie is deleted from our own storage as soon as the check is approved, or 30 days after it is rejected or you are asked to retake it. The verified badge and the decision stay on your account.
- A copy of a conversation saved for a report is kept only until our team has finished reviewing that report, and is then deleted.
- Reports about an account, and our decisions on them, are kept after the account is deleted so we can enforce our rules. If an account is banned, we also keep a one-way fingerprint of the email address (not the address itself) so the ban holds. If you filed a report and later delete your account, the report stays but no longer shows who filed it.
- We may keep other information where needed to prevent fraud or meet a legal obligation. Aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you is not deleted.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple or Google account settings.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
Twyne is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. For how we prevent, report, and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation, see our Child Safety Standards.
8. Online Dating Safety
Your safety matters to us. Please note:
- Odd Pear Studio does not conduct criminal background checks on members, and we do not verify the truthfulness of any information members provide.
- Never send money, gift cards, or financial information to anyone you meet on Twyne.
- Meet new connections in public places, tell a friend or family member where you’re going, and consider a video call before meeting in person.
- If you experience or witness harassment, threats, or suspicious behavior, report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools or by emailing contact@twyne-dating.com.
9. Geographic Scope
Twyne is offered only to residents of the United States. We do not intend to offer the Service in any other country, and this Policy does not address the laws of any other jurisdiction (such as the EU’s GDPR or the UK GDPR).
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services (such as app stores). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email, in-app notice, or by posting an updated version on this page with a new effective date.
